Choose Your Words presents What Lies Within, a memoir about growing up in the fifties and sixties in a home filled with secrets that lead to the dissolution of a once-happy family.

Since 1997, Choose Your Words’s founder, Libby J. Atwater has helped others preserve their tales in books and on CDs and DVDs. In 2013 she introduced her memoir What Lies Within, the story of her early years. The book’s pivotal events occur in 1963, the year Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led the march on Washington, D.C. and President John F. Kennedy was assassinated. Other sixties tragedies and milestones form the backdrop for this tale that portrays a mother’s love, a family’s dissolution, and Atwater’s resilience despite great personal loss.

What lies behind us and what lies before us are
tiny matters compared to what lies within us. And when we bring what lies within us out into the world, miracles happen.
