Some of the best and most popular Anime characters are introverts. Like myself. And just like you.
If you’re an introvert, it makes these characters (listed below) more attractive and interesting. Why? Because you can relate to the characters a lot more, as they have a lot in common.
You can understand their emotions, feelings, outlook, and even what they’re going through, and use it as something to learn from depending on the context.
Let’s get to it.
Some Of The Best Anime Girls Who Are Introverts:
1. Mio Nishizono (Little Busters)
Mio Nishizono is an Anime character from the show – Little Busters.
She’s the quiet type who doesn’t say more than she needs to. That being said, Mio’s a sharp girl with a great deal of intelligence.
One of Mio’s favourite hobbies is reading books outdoors when it’s bright and sunny.
2. Mio Akiyama (K-On)
Mio Akiyama is a lead character from K-On. She loves music more than anything else, as do her band members.
The funny thing is Mio’s passionate and energetic when performing on stage. Yet she’s also shy and dislikes too much attention.
Music is the one thing that helps Mio Akiyama come alive. Her instrument of choice is a bass guitar. Which she decided to name – Eliza-bass!
3. Homura Akemi (Madoka Magica)
Homura appears cold, unemotional, and uninterested in others. But that’s because of the hardships she’s been through.
Even though Homura is introverted, communication is the last thing she struggles with.
Homura cares for her friends so much that she’ll do anything to protect them. Especially Madoka Kaname.
I’d say some of Homura’s most attractive traits are her observation skills, dedication and calm personality.
4. Mei Misaki (Another)
Mei appears cold, quiet, and empty to those around her. Similar to Homura Akemi in some ways.
But it’s clear to see Mei Misakiis the type to choose her friends carefully.
She’s a deep thinker and isn’t the type to waste her words. Like Homura, one of her best traits is her calm personality. Which comes in handy when things start to become hectic.
5. Tina Sprout (Black Bullet)
Heard of the Anime series – Black Bullet? Tina Sprout is an Initiator from the series.
Tina’s lively and energetic around those she’s closest to. But is otherwise not the type to strike up a conversation with strangers. Unless she’s approached first.
The fact Tina likes to smile a lot makes it easy for people to warm to her personality.
6. Kotomi Ichinose (Clannad)
Kotomi is one of the main characters in season 1 of Clannad.
She loves books, loves to read, and is committed to her education.
Oh, and let’s not forget her love for music.
7. Kirigiri Kyouko (Danganronpa)
One of the main characters from the series – Danganronpa. Kirigiri is witty, sharp, intelligent, attractive, and diligent.
She’s the type to think before she speaks and is more logical than emotional. Meaning she keeps a level head instead of overreacting and stressing out.
Unlike other introverts on this list, she’s a great conversationalist. Especially if the situation calls for it.
8. Mako Reizei (Girls Und Panzer)
To others, Mako seems lazy, uninterested, and unemotional. But the truth is she’s cool, calm and collected.
Not to mention more intelligent than you’d believe, and a fast learner.
An example of Mako being a fast learner is when she has to drive a tank for the first time. And yet, she does it as if she’s a professional.
Mako isn’t the most energetic person, but that’s what makes her unique.
Her mind and intelligence are her strongest traits.
9. Kanade Tachibana (Angel Beats)
From the popular Anime show – Angel Beats!
Kanade Tachibana is a mysterious girl, who doesn’t seem to wanna talk to anybody. And it’s this trait that makes others too uncomfortable to approach her.
But as you watch the show, you realize that’s not true at all.
Like some introverts, Kanade needs to get to know you first before opening up to you.
10. Ruko Kominato (Selector Infected Wixoss)
Ruko Kominato is one of the most introverted characters on this list. She’s a part of the Anime series – Wixoss.
Ruko loves to have her own space, and spend time with herself.
She cares a lot for those she becomes close friends with. Even to the point of putting herself in danger. And always putting her friends’ needs before her own.
One of the things that make Ruko stand out is her relentless determination and strong will.
11. Hifumi Takimoto (New Game!)
Hifumi Takimoto is the main introvert of the group in New Game! It’s an anime about the gaming industry from a female perspective.
She’s thoughtful of others and can put other people before herself. A lot of the time she stays quiet and works harder than most.
Secretly she cosplays and doesn’t share her “hobbies” with much of anyone.
12. Nako Sunao (Hitoribocchi)
Nako Sunao from Hitoribocchi is the 2nd character introduced in the anime. From the first episode.
She’s the type to keep a small circle of friends and doesn’t associate herself with just anyone. She’s picky.
Once you become friends with someone like Nako, it’s for life. She’s loyal to the death.
13. Chino Kafuu (Is The Order A Rabbit?)
Chino is the shy, smol main character in Is The Order A Rabbit? An anime made by Madhouse Studios!
She’s the granddaughter of a coffee shop, and she plays a part in running the business.
Chino’s terrified of being put on camera or being exposed publicly as she’s a private person. And doesn’t like being the centre of attention.
14. Naru Sekiya (Hanayamata)
Naru Sekiya is kind MC from Hanayamata. It’s an anime that’s based on a real-life freestyle dance in Japan.
She’s a typical introvert and doesn’t do well in crowds. Not just because of social anxiety, but because she’s not interested in those kinds of environments.
Naru’s the purest character in Hanayamata in every literal way you can imagine.
15. Kirika Yuumura (Noir)
Kirika Yuumura is from Noir, an anime named after a French word.
Kirika’s childhood is anything but normal. She’s seen violence, murder and the lot firsthand.
Growing up she’s a quiet, aloof child and turns into an unsurprisingly introverted freelance assassin. As part of the anime’s main plot.
She’s good at drawing and has plenty of talent for it.
16. Alice Caroll (Aria The Animation)
Alice Caroll is an introvert who’s not easy to approach or be friends with at first. Even Akari Mizunashi (the MC) struggles to make it happen.
Alice likes her own space and isn’t one to interfere with other people’s business or bother anyone unnecessarily.
She’s independent, and is happy to do her own thing, but does value her friendships for the very same reason.
Her circle is tight.
17. Chiaki Hoshinomori (Gamers)
Chiaki Hoshinomori is one of the female characters who shows up later in Gamers. She’s an extreme introvert who no one talks to really.
Most of her energy is spent burying her head in video games. The same game Keita (the male MC).
It’s not until Uehara speaks to her and even gives Chiaki a compliment that she opens up a bit and makes slight changes.
She’s an Otaku without a doubt, but a good-natured person in general.
18. Ringo Tatara (Battle Game In 5 Seconds)
Ringo from Battle Game In 5 Seconds takes more than just a secondary role. She’s a side character.
She does still have some relevance in the series.
Ringo is the type of person who wants to say something but ends up saying something else because she’s too embarrassed or shy. And that’s followed by inner dialogue criticizing herself.
She’s quite small and isn’t close to many characters.
19. Kate (Shadows House)
Kate is the “shadow” in this anime, or the Yin to the yang of her partner Emilico. While Emilico is more extroverted, Kate is more introverted, uses less words to get her point across, and is a quiet person unless aggravated.
She’s smart, insightful, and is a strong person.
20. Yayoi Chan (Dark Gathering)
Yayoi is a tragic character but one who manages to somewhat overcome her tragic experiences by staying laser focused on her ONE goal.
That goal is to destroy the spirit that killed her parents, her mother. She’s obsessed with this one goal and it’s sensible, though her goal evolves over time.
When she’s not talking about spirits, she’s introverted, has little to say, and isn’t one to use more words than needed to get her points across.
21. Mikoto Misaka (A Certain Scientific Railgun)
The MC of Railgun. Mikoto Misaka is introverted and prefers to keep her deepest secrets and thoughts in generalto herself.
It’s only when she feels morally obligated that she gets vocal and speaks her mind (the latter which she does in general anyway, but still).
Good ethics, good morals, ambition high enough to hit the moon – she’s one of the best-written female characters out there.
22. Ranko Mannen (Akiba Maid War)
Ranko is an awkward character. A clear introvert and one who doesn’t say too much when it comes to conversation. But she does excel when it comes to fighting and prefers to speak with her actions.
Her past plays a role in Ranko being insular and burying her thoughts deep down.
She’s a major highlight of the Akiba Maid War anime.
23. Yor Forger (Spy x Family)
Yor is the type of person who tries her very best to do what’s right and even to please others sometimes. But otherwise, she keeps herself to herself and isn’t the best in social situations (unrelated to being an introvert).
She’s a rounded character and that’s what many have come to love about Yor Forger.
24. Ryuzu Meyer (Re:Zero)
The copy Ryuzu and the main Ryuzu are both introverts regardless of which one you look at. So it’s all the same.
She’s a quiet but wise person. One who takes time to think and doesn’t ever get overly flustered, act out of character, or let emotions dictate her actions.
Still, she does open up to the right people.
25. Hina (Hinamatsuri)
Hina is the little brat of the Hinamatsuri series. The one who gives NIITA, a Yakuza, a major headache since she has supernatural powers and abuses them to get what she wants out of Niita.
But over time Hina does show her nicer side and does become a loveable character.
She’s clearly the most introverted character in the series.
26. Sakaki (Azumanga Daioh)
Sakaki is one of the original MOE main female characters in a slice of life series. In fact, Azumanga Daioh is responsible for making the Moe genre what we know of it today.
It’s the original.
Sakaki as a character is quiet, always deep in thought, and likes to spend time alone so she can think about things. One thing that she loves ic ats and cute things, and when in the presence of these things, she becomes more outward instead of inward.
27. Umika Konohoshi (Stardust Telepath)
Umika is the new character from the Stardust Telepath series, a wholesome slice of life style of anime. She believes in Aliens and would love to meet an Alien someday.
She believes if people on Earth can’t understand her as a person, that maybe she can find people who do understand her by going to other planets.
This is all dreams on her part, but it becomes partially real when an Alien lands on Earth and forgets part of her memory.
Umika has clear social anxiety, is shy, introverted, and not the best at communicating her thoughts to other people.
28. Yoshino Koiwai (Masamune Kun No Revenge)
Yoshino is an introverted character who serves Aki Adagaki, a rich schoolgirl from a wealthy family. Yoshino comes from a line of maids somewhat, her sister included, who serve the Aki family.
She’s so used to serving others that it starts to affect her in situations where she needs to speak her mind and share her views.
Yoshino thinks more than she talks and doesn’t have a big social circle of friends.
29. Miko Yotsuya (Mieruko Chan)
Miko is the anime’s main character who they use to portray the horror, fear, anxiety, and terror of many ghosts and spirits Miko is able to see with her eyes. Unlike other people in this world.
She pretends not to notice on purpose so she can be left alone eventually, but similar to the anime Dark Gathering,it gets worse with the level of spirits and the intensity of the situations.
Miko enjoys her own space and has one good friend called Hana who’s upbeat, but Miko isn’t the most socially adept person.
30. Hanekawa Tsubasa (Monogatari)
“I don’t know everything, I just know what I know.”
This is a classic quote from Hanaekawa during conversations and is a running theme in the Monogatari series.
She’s smart, intelligent, insightful, and clearly can see beyond the surface and isn’t a black-and-white thinker. She has no issues in social situations, but she does tend to be in her own world and enjoys her own space a lot.
Her glasses that she wears aren’t pretend, they’re for real unlike a certain cliche seen in some anime shows.
31. Chiaki Minami (Minami-Ke)
The youngest sister of the 3 sisters in the Minami household. Chiaki is an introvert, tends to keep herself to herself, is much smarter than others for her age, and is as straightforward as the tip of a blade.
She’s always fighting with the middle sisterKanawho tries to ease, provoke, and antagonise Chiaki.
Both sisters like Chiaki look up to the eldest sisterHarukawho’s more outgoing and angelic.
