Not at all ! Good luck to you scousers with your GSM EWR service (if indeed it can be sustained), but there are others that prefer not to settle for second best.

I really can not see this move as having an impact on NCL for a variety of reasons. The 752's have been acquired to enhance DL's long haul flexibility, and as such it is likely that they may be required for HNL as well as Europe. They may be used simply to release 762's on currrent thin routes or to re-enter thin routes previously dropped when operating an all 762 policy.
Given DL's current financial problems a more conservative policy is likely and additional 752 services if bound for the UK will end up at more established gateways.
I have seen nothing to indicate as to what portion of DL's 752 routes to Europe will operate from NYC i.e. JFK where they currently have limited onward connections, as opposed to their established ATL hub.
On a final note wasn't one of the 'excuses' cited by AA on their pull out, uncertainty over fuel costs.... at present they are at record highs !

Has anyone heard of a new airline called Esperia Aer. Their website states they want to fly from NCL - Strasbourg and MSE from 1/12/06.
HH6702 | 15th Jul 2006 20:29 |
can't find website please suply website for esperia aer
thanks
Sorry. Airline websites, which invariably sell airline tickets, are considered unpaid advertising on PPRuNe. We have several airlines who do pay for advertising with PPRuNe who object to such. Strenuously. Suggest a google.

HH6702, I have sent you a PM!

I've just had a look at the website.....very strange route structure. Does seem to include NCL - MSE and Strasbourg.
They will have to get a move on with the timetable etc. if services are to commence on 1st December.

Looking at the website it looks like 3x weekly service to Kent airport again
lets hope they have better look than EUjet.

It seems Thomsonfly while expanding their NCL operation are consolidating at the same time. 2 737's are rumoured to be based for the winter, with hopefully 757 a/c appearing for SSH flight (long way on a 737-300 with a stop if no 757!). capacity is being reduced in order to make it to the likes of TFS, LPA from NCL. Bit of an odd choice if it is true? Why take away the 757?
MSE and SXB seem two strange choices of new routes from NCL, hopefully they've done their research. however, Im thinking this could be a non starter. ;)

Heres the based plans for Thomsonfly at NCL for the winter, I'd say it's more likely to be a 1x 733 and 1x 752

TOM at NCL 06/07
Hi
Thomsonfly will be basing a B752 and a B738 at NCL this Winter, as the 738 will be required to fly the longer sectors such as TFS unlike this summer where the B733 is doing all the balearic and mainland spain runs.
Cheers
Kev

There's a few flights been missed out.
Check the winter timetable on airport website.
Thomsons are doing a lot of ski runs over the weekends

Just a qwick questions guys....
Are Excel Airways using the in-flight enternmant system that is fitted to the Finnair B757 that they are using in newcastle (Am on XLA428V on the 22nd.......low cost service....:ugh: )
Am only asking because last year when i flew on this very plane in the name on Air Scandic they did not use the IFE on my flight to LCA ( However the year before on a Air Scandic flight to FAO from MAN ( June 2004) on a Finnair B757 they did use the IFE system)
Many Thanks
nclbase | 19th Jul 2006 04:15 |
go-egnt,XLA do use the IFE on the 757 with the onw onboard product ie film and short programmes. These are updated regular and are always pretty good
ric180880 | 19th Jul 2006 14:07 |
TOM at NCL are having a 733 based, not a 738 as originally planned
transwede | 21st Jul 2006 09:39 |
Apparantly though, both flights on monday will be operated by 737-300 a/c, LPA and TFS! In that case what is the 757 a/c doing?
Re YYZ for summer 2007. Rumour has it Globespan have ended their contract with TS and have joined forces with Zoom and flyglobespan. Does this mean a new long haul carrier at NCL, abeilt on a charter basis?
airhumberside | 21st Jul 2006 13:01 |
If Zoom or GSM started flights on NCL-YYZ it would be on a scheduled basis.
mmeteesside | 21st Jul 2006 14:25 |
Air Transat is a scheduled flight so thats not saying anything, however I do believe that summer 2007 will see a new carrier on NCL-YYZ, rumoured to be Zoom, or FlyGlobespan may take it up themselves  Definitely won't be Air Transat though as (as others have stated) they have cancelled their contract with Globespan
